After an early and short flight from Zanzibar, your driver and his safari vehicle are waiting for you to explore this little known national park. Wildlife enthusiasts will be in paradise as they encounter majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Witness the breathtaking sight of elephants majestically roaming the plains. Be mesmerized by the elegant giraffes stretching their long necks to reach the young leaves high above.

Keep your eyes peeled for the graceful lions, stealthily prowling in search of their next meal. Within Mikumi National Park, you can also see lots of zebras, wildebeests, and of course the cheeky baboons, each adding their own unique charm to this vibrant ecosystem.

Day 1:

After a few days of enjoying the unique Zanzibar Archipelago, you will be picked up early in the morning by our driver and taken to the airport for your domestic flight to Mikumi National Park. Only a short flight of less than 1 hour with fantastic views of the Indian Ocean and the coast.

After landing you will meet your Safari guide and start with your first game drive. Prepare to be captivated by the incredible array of wildlife that calls the Mikumi home. Mikumi National Park is especially recommended for bird lovers. Over 400 species call this place home, ranging from striking eagles and colorful kingfishers to charming sunbirds and elusive owls.

We use open four-wheel-drive safari jeeps, perfectly suited for taking unobstructed pictures. The vehicles have low emissions, thus less noise, and therefore we can take you close-up to the wildlife. An English-speaking driverguide is very knowledgeable on flora and fauna and will make sure you get to see the best of Selous. They will give you as much time as you need to ask questions, take pictures and to enjoy the amazing landscape.

Once your safari adventure comes to an end, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight to Zanzibar.
