Day 1:

Embark on a spectacular Fly-in Safari Adventure from Zanzibar to the Selous Game Reserve! Escape the turquoise shores of Zanzibar and fly directly into the heart of the Selous Game Reserve for an unforgettable Safari adventure. Experience the ultimate convenience as you hop on a short scenic flight from Zanzibar and soar over the breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania.

As your plane touches down in the Selous, prepare to be immersed in a world of untamed beauty and thrilling wildlife encounters. From the moment you step foot in this remarkable reserve, you’ll be captivated by the sights and sounds of Africa’s iconic animals. After settling in you will start with your first full day game drive.

We use open four-wheel-drive safari jeeps, perfectly suited for taking unobstructed pictures. The vehicles produce low emissions and run quitely, and therefore we can take you close to the wildlife. Our English-speaking driverguides are very knowledgeable on flora and fauna and will make sure you get to see the best of Selous. They will give you as much time as you need to ask questions, take pictures and to enjoy the amazing landscape.

Day 2:

After an early breakfast you embark on your second full day game drive. Once again you can expect an authentic safari bush lunch, served at set tables. Your knowledgeable Safari guide will share fascinating insights about the behavior, habits, and survival strategies of the animals you encounter, ensuring an educational and immersive experience. Our guides are experts on tracking wildlife, taking you to prime viewing spots and maximizing your chances of witnessing rare and captivating wildlife interactions.

After this exciting adventure comes to a close, you drive back to the air strip for your late afternoon flight back to Zanzibar Airport and the transfer back to your resort / beach hotel.

Welcome to Africa Safari Selous Lodge, where comfort meets adventure! Located in magical Southern Tanzania, Africa Safari Selous is a spacious Lodge located close to the entrance of the Selous Game Reserve with the famous Rufiji River (the largest and longest river in Tanzania) within walking distance. The Lodge offers a nice swimming pool with a sun terrace, lounge / bar, restaurant, reception, and an information desk for all your questions, excursions, or last-minute Safari extensions.

Nestled amidst the untamed wilderness of Tanzania, the lodge offers a captivating safari experience. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Africa as you enjoy the comforts of the unique Banda Bungalows and explore the wonders of the surrounding nature. Much of the original vegetation has been retained, designed to harmonize with the natural surroundings. The restaurant overlooks a waterhole that often attracts birds and other wildlife!

You will stay in a 49m² Banda Bungalow that provides a tranquil sanctuary where you can unwind and recharge after exhilarating safari adventures, with one king-size bed and one single bed. An extra single bed can be added (on request). In the bathroom you can find a washbasin, shower and toilet. Enjoy sitting outside on the terrace where you can relax, read a book or look at your safari photos. The outside construction is traditional, but inside you will find all the comforts with enough storage space. The swimming pool is within walking distance.
