3 Days Safari | Serengeti National Park

Tanzania Northern Circuit

Explore the Serengeti with us, one of the most iconic and well-known wildlife conservation areas in the world. It is renowned for its stunning landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and large concentrations of wildlife. With this tour you hop on a short 1,5-hour flight from Zanzibar directly into the heart of the Serengeti! From your airplane you can enjoy panoramic views of the endless Serengeti plains before landing on the Seronera airstrip. Then you will be ready for your adventure in a comfortable 4×4 Safari vehicle with a pop-up roof.

Serengeti is home to an extraordinary array of wildlife, including the famous “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). The annual Great Migration, where over a million wildebeests and other herbivores travel in search of water and food, is one of the most incredible natural spectacles on Earth. It involves a circular movement of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles in the greater Serengeti Eco System.

Your accommodation will be Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma for 2 nights. The Lodge is located directly at the border of the national park, in the Ikoma Wildlife Area.

Day 1:

During a 1,5-hour flight departing from Zanzibar Airport, you will fly overhead the Indian Ocean, the hinterland of Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands and eventually the vast expanse of the Serengeti before making your descent to Seronera Airstrip. The views from above are undeniably magnificent.

Serengeti National Park most famous aspect is its Great Migration, one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. It involves the annual movement of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores across the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania and into Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. This awe-inspiring journey is driven by the search for water and fresh grazing, and it’s a prime example of nature’s grand cycles. Depending on the Migration season, our Safari guides will pick routes that give you the best chance to encounter this natural phenomenon.

Day 2:

A full day to explore the legendary Serengeti – catch up on the wildlife you missed on the first day! The National Park is the centerpiece of the Serengeti ecosystem, consisting of diverse habitats, including vast grasslands, acacia woodlands, riverine forests, and rocky outcrops. As the park is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species (including the famous Big Five), we encourge our Safari guests to ask their guide to focus on certain aspects or areas of the park.

Day 3:

After breakfast your Safari guide will bring you back to Seronera Airstrip, located in the central Serengeti. Even during this transfer drive, you will can see a lot of animals. Your plane will take off from the unpaved Seronera field for your return flight to the Zanzibar Archipelago. Depending on the weather conditions, you can spot the snow covered peak of Kilimanjaro mountain during the flight. A driver will wait for you at the airport and take you back to your hotel.
